I wasn’t planning to make any real New Year’s Resolutions this year. However, the boyfriend did and it got me thinking seriously about a few of the things I want to achieve over the next couple of years.
As a consequence of said thinking, yesterday I finally completed a list of 101 (rather random) tasks I want to achieve over 1001 days. I’ve been working on this list on and off for about six months, ever since I was inspired to finally doing a 101/1001 list of my own by Elizabeth.
Some of them are just for fun such as buying a ridiculous pair of shoes just because. Some of them are quite serious such as finally getting around to visiting a dentist, which is something I haven’t done in almost 3 years.
If you’re interested in some of the things I have planned for myself over the next 2.75 years please feel free to check out my list!

I started one of these ages ago but never got around to finishing it. I don’t think I even have my list anymore. Anyway, I love this project – the fact that it pushes you, but only as much as you want it to, and the fact that you have a lot of time to do it, so that it’s not a lot of trouble.
I was thinking of starting one up again and making a separate blog to track the progress.
P.S. The first link in your entry is broken.
Thanks Clemmie! Link all fixed.
I think the thing I like most about this project is the fact there’s a nice long time frame. I’ve always had lists of things I want to do, and this is the perfect excuse to get some of them done. :)
Good luck with the project. I just went through and read all the things. Most of them I can do and/or seem doable by anyone, but some I would never be able to complete (five new bars, play cards at the casino, etc). It does seem like a really really cool project. I think next year I’ll do some project for the whole year and try my hardest to complete it. :)
Happy New Year, Nadine! :D
P.S. I think I might try to learn the 195 countries of the world one.
Hehe! I was so disapointed when I tried it the countries test the first time… I only got something around the 30ish mark!
Welcome to 101 Things! Your list looks terrific, and if you’ve written it from the heart it’ll be on your brain for the next 1000 days.
Good luck! Looking forward to reading about all your adventures :)
I started a 101 list a few years back, but never ended up finishing it on account of not being able to think of 101 things to do.
But anyway, I’ve always thought that it’s a pretty cool idea, so good luck with it! Some of the things on your list are excellent things to do, too.
I’m horrible at remembering to do stuff. I started a list but finished I think 50 tasks before stopping.
I hope I stick with it. I know it’s not going to be easy! :)
That’s a great list; I like how you’ve mixed fun things with harder/more serious stuff.
I think I’ll be taking the one about giving gifts “just because” and learning all the countries to add to my own goals for the future! :P
I think if it was all serious stuff I’d loose interest in it far too quickly. :P
Oohhh, this sounds like a really good idea! I’ll have to look into it. But you have a pretty awesome list yourself and hopefully you’ll share some stories as you achieve some of your goals!
Wow, well good luck with everything! Maybe I should make one as well?
dentist needs to go on mine. I’m writing my list this month, to start late Jan/early Feb.
Yay! I can’t wait to see your list! :)
I’d planned on starting one of those some time ago but I’ve never gotten around to it. I’m so lazy!
Getting a tattoo, buying a good camera and visiting Las Vegas are definitely going to be added to my list as well!
What a wonderful idea! I may do a list of my own sometime. There are so many things on your list that I to do. It’s such an exciting idea! Good luck with everything :D
What a GREAT idea. I don’t think that would work for me though.. i stress myself out about lists and things. I found out that if i don’t plan things, things seem to go a lot better for me.. Like my plan NOT to be an artist… turned into exactly that.. Me being an artist for a living (well, ALMOST but still)
So I wasnt going to make a ressolution this year either.. but i caved. My resolution this year is to really amp up my blog. I want to post three times a week and really post a lot more personal pictures or more project based posts.. not so much randomness.
My other goal (not QUITE a resolution) is to do more personal art projects, maybe get something into a gallery around here.
