For the boy’s birthday a week or two ago, I decided to help him tick something off his “bucket list.” So I took him to the Werribee Open Range Zoo. It was also an item I could tick of my 101 in 1001 list. :)
We went on an open vehicle adventure and got to see all sorts of interesting animals up close! I think my favourite animals of the day were the giraffes! The zebras were kind of cool too…

Last time I went on a safari, the giraffe came really close to the vehicle we could have reached out and touched it! It’s always so cool to see animals up close.
We got really close to the giraffes too but the photos weren’t very good!
When I went on a safari the lion came up right outside my vehicle door. I could’ve reached out and pet it if I had a death wish :P
I’d be too scared to be that close to a lion! :P
I have not been to a safari since grade 2, and I really want to go! I love seeing all the animals up close. We were in a school bus and a monkey jumped on the side mirrors; it took a piece of lettuce. :P
I want to go on a safari with monkies! Monkies are awesome!

That looks really cool. Definitely something I want to do as well one day, but I don’t know if we have that kind of zoo around here. :s

That’s so awesome.. I haven’t been to the zoo since like 1999. There’s one here in Vancouver but I’ve never been there for some reason… I’ll make it a mission to go this spring though.
