I think the biggest challenges for me in 2011 will be career related.
I’m one of those people that’s never really had a concrete idea as to what I want to do “when I grow up.” All throughout high school and university I’ve flittered between various ideas. I think my problem is I’m not particularly passionate about one field or one idea, I’m somewhat interested in so many different things. English, IT, science… you name it, I’ve considered it.
After a bit of stuffing around, a few years ago I finally found something I was interested in studying. My first resolution is actually an easy one. I’m going to finish my multimedia design degree. I’ve managed to drag it out a lot longer than I probably should’ve with a 12 month leave of absence over 2010 and a mostly part time study load in the years before that. I want it over and done with as quickly as possible so I can move on to new things; like better job opportunities and further study.
The second of my resolutions is slightly more epic. I love multimedia and it’s something I’ll always be interested in, however I don’t think I’m one hundred percent convinced it’s what I want to do for the rest of my life. I’m going to attempt the extreme career change I’ve been considering for the past year or so. I’m not quite ready to explain any more just yet as there’s a lot that needs to happen for it to become more than just very distant dream, but I will let you know if anything exciting or interesting happens! :)

Wow it sounds exciting! Good luck with your career resolutions! I can’t wait to hear about it.
Ooh, I like the sound of an extreme career change!
It is very refreshing to know there is someone else in existence who also had no idea what they wanted to be when they grow up…., or now.
I’m glad you’ve discovered something you will want to do, and are finishing your degree. At least now, even if the move is drastic you’ve multimedia to fall back on.
I am very intrigued by this upcoming career move! Hmmm…
Good luck with finishing the multimedia degree :D
Good luck!
Ever hear the Sunscreen Song by Baz Luhrman? Your post reminded me of the part where he talks about how the most interesting 40 year olds he knows still don’t know what they want to do with their lives.
Did my other comment go to spam by any chance?
It did! My spam filter is being too smart for itself! I approved it! :)
