Random thoughts from the week that was.

I’ve been so busy lately that I think I’ve actually been thinking in disjointed snippets… :D

  • Today marks a week without my iPhone. I accidently sent it off a bench last Sunday and the screen shattered. Consequentially I have spent the last week swearing at one of Adam’s old phones whilst waiting for my phone company to complete their insurance assesement. It’s sucky because it takes me forever to text on a non-QWERTY keyboard and I’m really beginning to miss my morning & evening internet catch ups. My train trips each day are my ‘downtime’ and when I usually check what’s new on Google Reader and/or Twitter…
  • I actually went for a run yesterday! I agreed to play netball for a work competition so must at least attempt to pull myself into some state of fitness. My calves hate me today.
  • The Hurt Locker is a brilliant movie. If you haven’t seen it… you should.
  • I bought the kitties a new scratching pole! It’s HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGE! And kind of awesome. The platforms are shaped like fish. I bought it from an online discount store which of course meant I had to buy other ‘things’ and take advantage of multiple item discounted postage. I’m now the proud owner of a fondue kit. :)

Stuck on Repeat.

I listen to an insane variety of music. A little bit of everything and anything…

That said, I tend to get hung up on a couple of songs at a time and listen to them on repeat for a week or so before moving on.

It’s actually kind of random. They don’t even tend to be ‘new songs’.

The songs I’ve been hung up on this week?

Do you guys find yourself listening to songs on repeat? How long do songs tend to last in your playlists? :)

Going to the Zoo.

For the boy’s birthday a week or two ago, I decided to help him tick something off his “bucket list.” So I took him to the Werribee Open Range Zoo. It was also an item I could tick of my 101 in 1001 list. :)

We went on an open vehicle adventure and got to see all sorts of interesting animals up close! I think my favourite animals of the day were the giraffes! The zebras were kind of cool too…

101/1001

I wasn’t planning to make any real New Year’s Resolutions this year. However, the boyfriend did and it got me thinking seriously about a few of the things I want to achieve over the next couple of years.

As a consequence of said thinking, yesterday I finally completed a list of 101 (rather random) tasks I want to achieve over 1001 days. I’ve been working on this list on and off for about six months, ever since I was inspired to finally doing a 101/1001 list of my own by Elizabeth.

Some of them are just for fun such as buying a ridiculous pair of shoes just because. Some of them are quite serious such as finally getting around to visiting a dentist, which is something I haven’t done in almost 3 years.

If you’re interested in some of the things I have planned for myself over the next 2.75 years please feel free to check out my list!

Another year down.

For me, 2009 had its ups & downs, just like every other year. Tomorrow’s a whole new beginning. I love the feeling of being able to start anew each year… I can’t wait to see what 2010 has in store. :)

I hope you have a lovely New Years Eve! The boy and I are going to a friend’s pool party. I’ll be armed with glow sticks & a glow in the dark fairy wand, ’cause New Eve is always a great excuse for some random happiness!

P.S. You’re all awesome. Thanks for reading my ramblings and sharing 2009 with me!
