House moving with the kitties.

Cats like company – they’re not very independant creatures.

Stuck on Repeat.

There is one that has a general techno-twist, but also has some colourful personalities on it that make it less ‘dry’: http://twit.tv/twit

Of course, even I’ll admit that it varies from week to week.

I have this odd ‘condition’; songs that repeat over-and-over get stuck in my head / ear. And for days it’ll repeat. If I hear it on the radio, or someone sings two lines from it, It really bothers me. I think I need a break from all noise/music at times :( Podcasts are good for that….
Recently the one song that I can listen to over and over without any affect is owl city’s “Fireflies”. Dont know why, but I cope.

She’s a Lady.

Beautiful dog! They don’t “stop” being puppies until 7 or 8, from my experience ;) So you’ll just have to put up with the ‘puppy love’ for a little bit longer.

Visiting ‘home.’

“I’ve only been here since yesterday morning and the ’small country town’ boredom is already settling in…”

I think thats just a mentality. Just enjoy the peace and quiet, and the fact that you cant do anything… you’ll miss it. I’m sure :P

Maybe I’m slowly turning into a Windows fan girl…

That’s not microsofts fault – that would be with Linksys.
Did windows 7 not come with any inbuilt drivers for the linksys wireless adaptor?
It wouldn’t surprise me if it didnt, I’ve found a couple wireless USB-dongles that haven’t worked – but I would contact linksys and hurry them up on creating appropriate drivers for their devices.

Do the upgrade, Dayna. You won’t know yourself ;) And it’s well worth it – trust me.
I’ve had no end of trouble from Vista on a number of machines.

You’ll find that all applications (32 or 64 bit) will run, since windows 7 64-bit actually has built into the capacity to run 32-bit applications/programs.
Just remember if you’re looking for an application, or a file for an application, look under ‘program files (32 bit)’ :)
And I bet the graphics card was the only thing you had issues with, right?

You’re going to get sick of me talking about portfolios.

I think you should have a totally independant site for portfolio work. Portfolio.nadinerine wouldnt be good, for the reasons of people with half a brain could remore the ‘portfolio’ part and find your blog – which others have pointed out isn’t necessarily a good thing.

Time to start thinking of new domain names :)
Either for a blog or a portfolio site. Unless you’re planning on quitting blogging forever.

This is how I feel right now.

Can’t wait*

Chewie doesn’t look wrecked. He looks calm and happy… just lounging. Thats how you’ll probably look at christmas :P

At least the middle of nowhere is pretty.

That may be a new thing. It’s been a few years since I swam there – like, 7 or 8… something ridiculous :P

Adams neck looks weird :P
Halls Gap is beautiful. Swimming at mckenzies is fun too :)

Dear pedestrian.

Of course they dont. because they’re ‘above’ the road rules – because they figure they’re not a car, so the road rules don’t apply.
I don’t know how many cyclists I’ve seen run read lights, or make dangerous moves nearly causing accidents; the same goes for motorcyclists.

There should be a law that allows drivers to run over pedestrians, particularly if the pedestrians are at fault.
In return, the pedistrians will forever be immortalised in a special version of the ‘Darwin Awards’ – dedicated to stupid pedestrians.

Fat Belly & Google – The Fishys.

How bout a dog… called ‘dogpile’.
Altavista wasn’t bad.
Nor was lycos.

Looks great!
I once started a book on blurb… momento’s system seems ok too.
BTW – do you use a plug-in for the ‘replies to comments’ – or is that a feature i can activate in WP? :P

Crazy cat lady.

You’re already that, nadine :P

Print-based portfolio?

Mark: They have them; the bigger issue is powering the thing :P
Unless portfolio’s become like tablet pc’s, or something like this: http://www.businessinsider.com/arringtons-crunchpad-will-be-a-real-hit-says-best-buy-marketing-boss-2009-8

Not at all; I’d advise print screening some of your work – or if it’s 3D-studio based, print of the models you did.
You can’t always garuntee a (good) internet connection when you’re displaying things to a customer. The other option is a website that’s launched on a CD (Flash is always fun for this).
If you did a mix (Printed screen shots / DVD of Work / Hosted Website) it will give you enough flexibility to show off you work to anyone.

What I’d Tell My 18 Year Old Self.

Interesting thoughts.
I’d only have this to say: Don’t be afraid to tell people what you think for fearing they’ll think less of you. If people don’t like you for who you are, they’re not worth bothering with.
[assuming that bit at the end is asking for input :P ]

Housemates & their addictions.

I think that would be dangerous, Nadine… you dont know WHAT you might find :P

August was a crazy busy month.

I’d be curious to see what you come up with for the Autism project :) Sounds fascinating – and I agree, actual real-world use for a project is always more rewarding and less… crap.

Hey good lookin’, whatcha got cooking?

It’s all well and good to create a flash new site.. but if you don’t then use it, whats the point? Or is this like having the ferrari locked up in the garage, never used? :P

Growing Up. The Soundtrack.

Songs are powerful like that.

BTW, how is that box going? Have you guys gone and dug it up yet? :P
You’ll probably want to soon, before it all degrades.

Hello (again) world!

I feel outnumbered by the female comments… But its good to have you back :)
I agree. Clean starts the way to go. New chapter of your life.
Have you ever thought of getting your blog archives printed in book form? Just for you, not for selling :P
